At the end of July, our team of logistics, operations and HSE specialists in Brazil successfully completed loading and offloading operations for Chevron off the InterMoor do Brazil base in Port Acu.
Several containers and supply shipments for the FPSO FRADE were handled on the InterMoor base using a telescopic crane with a capacity of up to 220 tons.
After operations were completed, the CCOTM – Centre for Operational Maritime Traffic Control, responsible for coordinating the channel access, authorized the undocking and both vessels continued on to the Frade Field. The Frade Field is Chevron’s first oil field development project in Brazil. Frade is located in the Campos Basin at a water depth of 3,700 feet (1,128 m), approximately 230 miles (370 km) northeast of Rio de Janeiro.
These were the first logistics operations carried out by the InterMoor Açu Marine Base, substantially reducing the shipping time between the Frade Field and Base Support Logistics.
