Due to continued expansion, InterMoor Ltd are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer to work in our office in Aberdeen. The role reports to the Projects Manager and will be required to contribute to the safe, efficient and cost-effective planning and execution of InterMoor’s projects through tender development, leading engineering work packages, procedural development and offshore execution.

Dimensions of the Job

List of Duties will include but are not limited to:

Onshore

  • Lead technical response for project tenders and assist in commercial aspects
  • Management of individual projects dependent on type and scale under supervision of Projects Manager
  • Responsible for the delivery of engineering deliverables in support of the specific projects either independently or through management of internal / external resources
  • Responsible for the development of operational procedures for utilisation offshore including step by step methodology, rigging arrangements and lifting plans
  • Development of procedural sketches in conjunction with design department
  • Identification of equipment requirements for projects, including rigging design, and interface with sales / rental departments for procurement / delivery
  • Responsible for the development of mobilisation / demobilisation plans and quayside supervision during mobilisation / demobilisation activities to ensure work is completed as per procedures
  • Create, maintain and report on project schedules as required
  • Attend meetings with clients and sub-contractors
  • Actively participate in HIRAs
  • Produce scopes of work for sub-contractors
  • Assist project QHSE advisor to ensure:
    o Hazards and risks associated with equipment and operational practices are assessed
    o Effective control measures are implemented to minimise potentially harmful situations
    o Safety Management Plans and appropriate Risk Assessments are carried out at appropriate phases of operational projects
    o Identification and quantification of the key risk(s) and reducing the overall risk to as low as reasonably practical (ALARP) following industry best practice

Offshore

  • Complete Daily Progress Report (DPR)
  • Oversee vessel mobilisations/de-mobilisations
  • Assist the offshore supervisors in the management of sub-contractors and the execution of the project
  • Perform on site calculations as required
  • Produce and complete Management of Change forms as required
  • Oversee deck operations ensuring that procedures are followed and relevant information is recorded
  • Ensure InterMoor and vessel safety policy is adhered to at all times.
  • Conduct pre-job safety briefings and tool box talks with project team/sub-contractors as required
  • Ensure all required information is recorded / collected for completion of as-built documentation / post job report

Core Competencies

  • Degree in engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Experience in design / installation of permanent mooring systems for units such as FPSOs, FSOs, FSUs, or CALM buoys etc.
  • Offshore experience as a Project Engineer for installation projects
  • Experience in development of offshore operational procedures for installation / subsea construction
  • Competent in Microsoft office suite
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Offshore medical and survival certificates
  • Experience in installation of flexible risers/umbilicals
  • Experience in installation analysis
  • Experience in the use of orcaflex
  • Experience in tender development including method statements, scheduling and financial estimates/calculations
  • Experience in leading a team and guiding the team members is preferred but not essential
  • Ability to travel internationally as job dictates

Due to increased and rapid growth, InterMoor Ltd, an Acteon company, are recruiting for a Marine Consultant to work at our company headquarters in the north of Aberdeen.  Working within our busy and dynamic Marine department the successful candidate will be responsible for project managing marine operations for rig moves of semi-submersible and jack up units, and, render marine consultancy service and marine assurance on behalf of Clients.  The successful candidate will also be required to attend offshore operations on behalf of InterMoor, acting in the capacity of Marine Specialist, Marine Representative or Towmaster during rig move and offshore marine operations

Dimensions of the Job

List of Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Acting as contract holder/focal point for assigned clients, and managing the contract under its terms
  • Liaising with the clients on a daily basis and updating project status
  • Prepare quotes and costs for clients based on contract rates as applicable
  • Prepare operation specific procedures, risk assessments and any other marine jobs within their competency for the Clients, according to the industry standards, unit specifications and Client instructions
  • Attend rig move meetings with the Clients and update rig move procedures as required
  • Brief vessels, the Marine Representative, the Towmaster or the Marine Superintendent on the operation specific procedure where and when applicable
  • Keep daily update on the status of each ongoing rig move under their control
  • Check and assess the reports after completion of the offshore operation and approve the final report for publishing and distribution to the Client
  • Plan rig moving services according to InterMoor general practice
  • Attend offshore operations as Marine Representative, Marine Specialist or Towmaster
  • Perform accident/incident investigation onboard offshore vessels, as requested by the client
  • Perform Common Marine Inspections, Team Marine, Guard Vessel audits and ERRV Validation Trials or other audits as requested by the Client
  • Participate in the ‘On Call’ rota during out-of-office hours and holidays
  • Ensure effective financial controls and management are in place to achieve cost saving, profit and cash targets and to meet corporate and legal requirements
  • Accurately track and reconcile project equipment and resources
  • Ensure delivery of operational plans according to contractual requirements and customer requirements and expectations. Conduct regular reviews of operations, monitor utilisation and take action to ensure targets are met. Submit accurate and timely reports to line manager
  • Drive operational efficiency, assurance improvements and best practice across the operational team(s) in conjunction with planning for the effective management of risks

 

Core Competencies

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Certificate of competency as Master Mariner
  • Chief Officer certificate of competence or OIM qualified or Barge Engineer with rig moving history
  • Offshore Survival Training & relevant Medical Certificates
  • Tow master experience with jack-ups and semi-submersibles
  • Substantial Marine experience
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Experienced in managing multiple fast paced projects
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Effective/competent MS Office Suite User
  • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format

Due to continued expansion, InterMoor Ltd are currently recruiting for a Junior Naval Architect to work in our headquarters in the north of Aberdeen.  This role would suit someone who has limited work experience but is looking to work gain invaluable experience with a market leader in its field.  The role reports to the Engineering Manager and will be required to contribute to the safe, efficient and cost-effective planning and execution of InterMoor’s undertakings by performing engineering design, analysis and onshore/offshore support,

 

Dimensions of the Job

List of Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Design mooring systems and perform engineering analyses
  • Carry out engineering tasks such as anchor handling analysis, riser analysis, installation analysis, diffraction analysis, fatigue analysis etc as required from time to time
  • Liaise with the drawing department, primarily for mooring design drawings
  • Prepare deliverables to clients
  • Contribute to advancing the technical competence of the engineering team
  • Prepare cost estimates and technical proposals in response to enquiries from clients
  • Assist in the preparation of company response to Invitations to Tender
  • Provide technical advice in response to internal/external queries related to mooring systems design
  • Interface with clients, vendors and third-party contractors as required
  • Undertake quality assurance activities
  • Attend offshore operations, seafastening/load-out meetings, inspections/tests etc as required
  • Participate in on-call rotation

Core Competencies

  • Degree (2.1) in Engineering or Naval Architecture
  • Relevant experience in mooring systems design (mobile and/or permanent units) is preferable but not essential
  • An understanding of offshore operations, primarily related to mooring systems installation
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards on mooring systems design
  • Knowledge of mooring analysis software (such as Romeo/Gmoor32)
  • Basic knowledge of Orcaflex for modelling moorings/risers
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work internationally and offshore
